HOUSTON – A guilty conscience apparently got the best of the confessed killer from a 1986 Houston cold case.

Police say Lawrence Fox, 56, called them Thursday to admit he shot and killed a Houston teenager 30 years ago.

Fox told homicide detectives he shot 19-year-old Randy Erekson several times because the victim allegedly owed him money for drugs.

Erekson was found in his bed in the 3400 block of Blalock on February 18, 1986.
