Posted on October 2, 2016 by Jesse Quackenbush

A 40-year-old man was shot by his neighbor after trying to steal some items from his home on Friday night.

Around 9 p.m., the neighbor shot the 40-year-old man after he caught him breaking into his home on Cypress North Houston Road and Cathy Drive, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

A neighbor told police this isn’t the first time the 40-year-old suspect has tried to break into the home and the neighbor had enough of it. The homeowner who shot the suspect cooperated and waited for police to arrive.

The man was shot in the groin and taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital by LifeFlight. He is expected to survive but is in serious condition.

Police have yet to identify the suspect or the homeowner at this time.
